Parque da Grutas
We saw a cave today. A long time ago, people lived in these caves. They didn't have lights or electricity. Then we saw monkeys. My favorite monkey was in the second cage we saw, he was orangey-brown. We saw baby turtles and a macaw!

Santa Cruz
We went downtown today. We saw Alex, he is a dentist. It's a lot like the dentist in the United States. He has the same chair and tools. We walked by the Prefeitura, which is the town hall. The roads here are made with paralelepipidos, they're bricks for the road. Most of the roads in town are made with them. When they do construction, they take them out, fix things, and put the stones back in. Then we saw Carlinhos at the flower shop. He has a giant refrigerator full of flowers. Then, Carlinhos and his dog Bidu, went to the ice cream stand with us. I had uva (grape) and morango (strawberry) ice cream!

Churrasco
Brazilian people have a churrasco almost every weekend. They cook all different kinds of meat this way. It takes a long time to cook. They put big pieces of salt on the meat before they put it over the fire. They put the meat on a spit before putting it over the fire. Lots of Brazilians have a churrasqueria in their house. Some of them look like fireplaces.

The Market
It was not a supermarket, it was just a market, because supermarkets have doors. The market had no doors! You would wonder how I got in! It also had no walls. There was only a roof. They sold quail eggs there. The quail eggs were small. They had vegetables too, like carrots, lettuce, tomatoes and fruit. There were farmers who plant the food and then bring it to the market.
